There was actually a review quoted for this film that referred to it as "post-human." I was curious to find out what "post-human" entailed. Apparently, post-human refers to being able to transcend human limitations to go back in time and make different choices until a desired outcome is achieved. Or post-human means red-haired people run a lot. Not quite sure.

Whatever it means, this film was pretty cool. Lola finds out her boyfriend Manni botched a money-delivery for a big tough guy and is probably gonna get iced for it, so she's gotta figure out a way to get ten thousand smackers in twenty minutes AND get to where Manni is without any transportation. She spends most of the twenty minutes running. Then after things get screwed up, she starts over again until she gets it right. She also has the ability to shatter glass and affect probabilities with her sonic scream, so she's probably a superhero. Maybe something along the lines of "The Flash." I never picked up her codename, though, although Lola's a pretty good one.

At the risk of sounding generic, this did sorta keep me on the edge of my seat - figuratively, of course, although it does lose a little of its urgency when you realize nothing's permanent - not even the passage of time. It trades that urgency for curiosity, though, as you wonder just how she's going to wind up pulling it off.

It's a pretty cool bag of cinematography, as well, with animated bits and swooping crane shots following her around, making it a fun film to watch, and since the plot is minimal, that's a good thing. It's all about fun and excitement, experimentation and what-not, and it's one of the rare films that has a speedy techno soundtrack that actually makes good use of it. It's a good time.
